Venus, a pioneer of innovative green tourism business development, was a first "pilot" business in England to gain Gold Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) accreditation in 2001. Consequently, Venus's approach to sustainable development has been independently challenged, assessed and accredited at all sites (except Watergate Bay which opened in 2009) and Venus has successfully achieved Gold standard on 13 separate occasions from the internationally-recognised scheme.
Business members of GTBS are encouraged to help reduce the environmental impact of tourism for the enjoyment of future generations. Membership is a commitment to good environmental practice in business activities. We will ensure that we comply with environmental law and our legal Duty of Care requirements for waste disposal.
