Today is officially the first day of autumn which means that our late-night evenings at Blackpool Sands have now ended. All of our cafes will now close at 5pm.
But there’s plenty of cheer in the air with Devon and Cornwall blooming into autumn tomorrow. Here are our five favourite things to do as the seasons turn.
2. Pull on your wellies, bring the dog and discover the fascinating marine life in Watergate Bay's rock pools. There's a hot chocolate with marshmallows, not to mention brand new autumn dishes on the menu waiting for you in our café at the top for a hearty revival.
3. Look to the skies – you can spot terrific starling murmurations during autumn and winter. The cliffs at Tolcarne, Newquay is a great place to view their acrobatic feats and hear them ‘chatting’ as they go.
4. Take part in a beach clean. Keep your eyes peeled on the Marine Conservation Society website and volunteer in one of their beach events. It’s great fun and you’ll earn a well-deserved cup of tea afterwards.
5. Kick-start the day with a big breakfast at Blackpool Sands. The Guardian rates it one of the top 50 spots to have breakfast!
Whatever you do, come rain or shine, we hope that autumn inspires you to have fun and eat well.
